Englewood Fire Headquarters

The Fire Department Headquarters, also serves as the administrative office of the Englewood Area Fire Control District.  Fire Chief Mike Bonakoske, Assistant Chief Kirk Gaskell and Assistant Chief Scott Lane have their offices at Headquarters.  The three administrative employees of the fire district; administrative assistant, bookkeeper and clerk, also work at Fire Headquarters.
Station 71	The Englewood Area Fire Control District had maintained two business offices, at Station 71 in Englewood and at Station 74 in Rotonda.  Neither of these fire stations had the room for all of the administrative staff of the fire district.  As the fire district has grown, and additional firefighters hired, both of these stations have become over crowded.  At times, firefighters are forced to sleep on the floor, due to lack of space for beds.
Combining the fire department administration at one location,  is more efficient and cost effective. Fire station 71 will be remodeled to provide adequate sleeping and living areas for the seven fire fighters assigned there every shift.  Station 74 will have extra space when major emergencies require additional staffing.  Fire Board meetings will continue to be held at station 74.
